My name is Nancy, a college student from China. This August, I signed up at my school to become a volunteer for the United States Volunteer Exchange Project. I chose to volunteer in beautiful San Diego, California at the Chinese Historical Museum. I am delighted to share my experience in San Diego so far. 

I have been in San Diego for 12 days and am gradually adjusting to the lifestyle here. Although my English is not very good and I often do not understand what others say to me, I’ve met some great people through my internship, my host family, and other people in the city so far. With their help, my English is improving.

My internship in San Diego is at the Chinese Historical Museum, which was built to commemorate Chinese history, art and culture and the contributions of Chinese Americans. The environment at the Museum is excellent. My colleagues are friendly and hospitable. I often sell admission tickets and help with other museum projects. My colleagues are always willing to help me with enthusiasm. My English is also getting better because I’ve had the chance to practice with some of the visitors at the Museum. I really like this job!

Although it is only a volunteer position, I feel like I am a part of the family here and I am invited to staff and volunteer events. Two days ago, I went with the SDCHM staff to visit the Hotel Del Coronado, a well-known place. I felt so lucky to visit Coronado and listen to the tour guide talk about the history of the hotel. After the tour, everyone went to the beach and ate ice cream. I loved the blue sky and blue sea and fell in love with this place. I hope I will always remember this beautiful city and have good memories.

我叫Nancy，是一名来自中国的大学生。今年8月我加了学校的赴美志愿交流项目，也就是来到美丽的加州圣地亚哥，华人历史博物馆做一名志愿者。很高兴能和大家分享我在这里的经历。

今天已经是我来到这里的第12天了，我已经渐渐适应了这里的生活。虽然我英语不是很好，常常也听不懂别人对我说的话，但是还好我遇到的人都非常棒，我的实习机构，寄宿家庭等等，在这里的人们对我都非常好，在他们的帮助下我的英语也在渐渐的提高之中。

我在圣地亚哥的中国历史博物馆实习，这个博物馆是为了纪念中国的历史，艺术，文化，以及记录了华裔在这里的贡献而修建的. 博物馆环境很好，在这里同事们对我也非常的好，我常常会做一些售票和整理报刊的工作，虽然有很多不懂的地方，但是同事们给了我很多帮助，他们每个人都很热心，所以因此我也能顺利的完成自己的任务。在与游客们对话的同时，我的英语也渐渐得到了练习和进步，我真的很喜欢这份工作。

虽然在这里只是一名志愿者，但是大家都把我当作了一个正式在这里工作的人，平常的一些活动也热情的邀请我去参加。前两天我就和他们一起去参观了Coronado酒店，一个非常著名的地方，很幸运能够参观到这里并且听到了工作人员的讲解，让我对这里又有了更深的体会，结束之后大家又一起去了海滩吃了冰激凌，湛蓝的天空和蔚蓝的大海，让我深深的爱上了这个地方。这就是我这几日在些许的感受，希望我可以用这样的方式记录这个美丽的地方带给我美好的回忆。
