April Showers Bring....
The April showers have skipped over San Diego and we are having days full of sunshine. Just in case you need rain gear for an unexpected rainfall the San Diego Chinese Historical Museum has just the thing.
This common raincoat was worn by fisherman and farmers during the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) until the 1940s. These raincoats were water-resistant and either made of dried straw or palm and were seven layers thick. Attire such as this is still worn today in remote areas of China. The intricate detail and design are not to be missed. If you find yourself in the area, please stop in and marvel at this amazing artifact.
